Meet Michael Mayer

Michael Mayer received his B.A. in English from the University of Florida and received his juris doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law. While in law school, Michael received the best in class award for Trial Advocacy. He was also the President of the Moot Court Honors Society and worked for the Honorable David M. Gersten at the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami, Florida.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami, where he represented indigent clients from their initial arrest to their appeal. He was lead counsel on numerous jury trials ranging from misdemeanors to life felonies before expanding his practice to the Public Defender’s Appellate division where he argued extensively before the Third District Court of Appeal. Afterwards, Michael worked at a prominent civil litigation firm where he was the litigation managing attorney and oversaw the firm’s entire litigation department.

In 2009, Michael became a coach for the St. Thomas Trial team where he led the team in his first year to State and National championship victories. Michael subsequently became the director of the St. Thomas Trial team and professor of Trial Advocacy Practice, and later received the award for Adjunct Professor of the year.

Now, Michael uses his vast trial and litigation experience in giving our clients the best representation that they deserve and obtaining the best outcome possible. He is known for being an aggressive litigator and for covering every detail of a case and exploring every possible angle. Michael knows that each client is unique, and each case is different. Therefore, he takes pride in knowing who our clients are, working as a team with them, and explains everything thoroughly and clearly so that they can make the best and most informed decision with confidence that best suits their personal situation and well-being.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, while coaching his kids’ teams, playing the guitar and cycling.
